Nicole Mendes

Oklahoma freshman utility player from Houston (home schooled) who led the Sooners in batting average and stolen bases and tied for the lead in triples. She ranked 29th in the country in hits (75), 46th in runs per game (0.90) and 49th in batting average (.408) a career-best 21-game hit streak from April 14 to May 26 and a 35-game on-base streak (March 18 to May 26). She homered in both games of the WCWS Championship Series vs. Florida and had at least two hits in every game of the Norman Regional, going 11-21 (.524), including a leadoff homer in the finals against Tulsa on the first pitch of the game. Earned her first career win in her OU pitching debut with two strikeouts in 1.2 hitless innings against Incarnate Word.
